I bought a Samyang lens from samyanglens.com, the colors just never looked quite right to me. Skin tones kept coming out kind of dull with this weird green/yellow cast, even when I was shooting in good light — which was super frustrating, because good light usually hides a lot of sins.
I tried messing with camera profiles, white balance, and editing settings, but it always needed extra correction compared to my other lenses. It wasn’t unusable, but it definitely slowed down my workflow more than I expected, and I really don’t love spending extra time fixing something that should’ve looked closer from the start.
Maybe some people won’t notice or won’t care, and fair enough, everyone has their own priorities. But for me, color rendition matters a lot, especially with people shots. I ended up barely reaching for the lens after a while, so yeah, disappointing overall.

My first impression is that their warranty support is a mess. I reached out for help and I’m still waiting, which is frustrating.

I bought a Samyang lens from Samyang Optics because I figured the weather sealing would be okay for light outdoor shooting. The first time I used it in about a light drizzle, I noticed moisture around the mount, and the lens just didn’t feel right afterward.
Maybe I ended up with a bad copy, but it was frustrating for a lens that’s marketed like it can handle some weather. Support wasn’t very helpful either, so I wouldn’t feel comfortable taking it outside again.

I was hoping this lens would be easier to carry around, but it ended up feeling bigger and heavier than I thought it would. Because of that, my camera felt unbalanced quickly, and after a short walk my hand was already tired. The image quality might be fine, but the size and weight make it kind of a hassle for everyday use. I’m not really happy with it.

I used this lens for a few weeks, i was let down by the sharpness. The wording made it sound like the optical quality was going to be much better than it actually was, which felt a bit misleading. The corners were noticeably soft, and I ran into more flare than I expected. It’s not a horrible lens, but for the way it was described, I definitely expected more

I’m still waiting on my order after weeks, and the frustrating part is that nobody seems to take ownership of it. Every time I try to get an update, it feels like I’m being passed around with no real answer. I get that delays happen, but at least communicate and take responsibility.

The focus ring feels kind of cheap, not smooth, and a bit uneven, which makes tiny adjustments really frustrating. That’s a big issue if you actually rely on manual focus. I tried using it for both video and photos, but it kept bugging me every time I used it. On top of that, the reminders from them felt way too aggressive and started getting on my nerves. Maybe I just got a bad copy, but overall I’m not happy with the experience.

It said it was compatible with my camera, but something feels off. The autofocus never worked right for me, and I couldn’t get it to perform the way it should.

I had a frustrating time using the site. It felt confusing from the start, like I wasn’t always sure where to click, how to find what I needed, or whether a page had actually loaded. Some buttons weren’t obvious, the menus felt a little messy, and even simple things like searching around, opening pages, or trying to get back to where I was took longer than expected. The site was also slow, so I spent a lot of time waiting for pages to load, waiting after clicking links, waiting for things to refresh, and basically just wondering if it was frozen. It wasn’t unusable, but it definitely made the whole experience more annoying than it needed to be.

I was expecting the pictures to come out nice and clear, but they just looked soft and not sharp at all. For what I hoped this would deliver, give me a break.

I was hoping it would handle darker settings better, but my low-light shots came out noisy and sorta hard to use. It’s fine in better lighting, but not great when things get dim.

I reached out to customer service and I’m still waiting for an actual reply. I figured someone would get back to me by now, but… yeah, nothing so far.

I bought a Samyang lens last year, and lately it’s been feeling way older than it is. The focus ring has gotten kind of rough, and there’s a tiny wobble at the mount now, which is disappointing since I mostly used it at home and kept it in a padded bag.

Maybe I just got a bad copy, but after dealing with this recently, it’s hard for me to feel confident about the build quality. My impression right now is negative because I expected it to hold up much longer with normal use.

I’m disappointed with this. For the price, I expected something that felt a lot better made, but it comes off cheap the second you handle it. I keep wondering if I got a knockoff or if it’s just actually this poorly made. Either way, I regret spending the money on it.

I picked this up mostly for portraits, but the bokeh just looks kind of weird to me. It’s a bit harsh and busy in the background, so it ends up pulling attention away from the subject. Not really what I was hoping for.

I picked up this Samyang lens thinking the autofocus would at least be decent, but what a joke. It keeps hunting back and forth and somehow still misses shots that should be easy. Straight lines come out all bent and weird, and I’m constantly having to clean it up in editing. Maybe some folks won’t mind it, but for me it’s just kind of a pain and not really worth dealing with.
